The Directors who started the company 10 years ago are actively involved in the day to day operation of the business and have endeavored to make ‘Adventure Tours’ large enough to offer professional service and support, but small enough to care for every passenger carried. This, along with our modern vehicles, professional guides, premium camping equipment and unique accommodation equals budget tours of the highest quality and value. Adventure Tours Australia guides are not your average tour guide! They act not only as the source for valuable information relating to the geology, botany and Aboriginal culture of the area, but also as the mechanic, the cook, the entertainer. Our comprehensive in-house training program, incorporates training from the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) as well as St John's Ambulance Service in addition to mechanical training through the Centralian College. This ensures that our guides are professional and in possession of vast and accurate information, as well as having the necessary skills to conduct a quality, safe and fun tour! Our modern fleet of air-conditioned vehicles includes specially designed 4WD’s, mini-buses and coaches so you can explore the Outback with ease. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a better view for greater appreciation of the scenery. We use our coaches in locations where there are large driving distances on sealed roads as the larger vehicles provide greater comfort. In all other circumstances, we focus on providing a small group experience with an average maximum group size of 16. We offer a range of campsites to suit your comfort requirements and preferred style of travel, from our deluxe ‘Safari in Style’ accommodation to bush camping under the stars. We have permanent campsites with screened eating areas, purpose-built fire pits, permanent cooking and refrigeration facilities all used exclusively by our passengers. Many of these are in areas unavailable to other tour operators including our camps at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge, which are bordered by lush forest and populated with wild wallabies, our Kings Canyon camp that is perfectly placed for spectacular sunsets, our site a stone’s throw from Katherine Gorge and the unique experience we offer in the outback areas around the Flinders Ranges. In the Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania we have many accommodation houses used only by our groups, selected because of their unique locations and facilities. Being the only group at many of our destinations offers an unequalled personalized touring experience. Examples of these exclusive properties are Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge, a 260 acre property near Kakadu National Park, Tullah Lakeside Chalet on the remote West coast of Tasmania and Rawnsley Park sheep station, just south of Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges.
