They are both young, fit and very knowledgeable about the local birds. They are extremely friendly, helpful & approachable. Richard has traveled extensively around the region & Australia and knows the Hunter Valley region & it’s birds extremely well. As well as an avid birder Richard is an exceptional organizer and will make sure that everything goes to plan on whatever trip you participate. Phil was born in June 1965 and is a top Australian birder. Originally from England he has been in Australia on & off for the past 10 years & in Newcastle since November 1999. He has traveled extensively throughout Australia clocking up over 700 species. Phil has a special interest in Seabirds and also Waders has a high level of identification expertise in these & all other areas. Phil has birded in over 40 countries on every continent to achieve these levels. This local knowledge and international expertise make your guides an excellent combination they know where to look & what to look for. This will guarantee that you have a great time and maximize your experience of this wonderful area.
