Geeveston Highlands Salmon & Trout Fishery at Australia Adventures

Geeveston Highlands Salmon & Trout Fishery - The world's first stillwater catch-and-release Atlantic salmon fishery. Fly-fish for large, prime, hard-fighting Atlantic Salmon to 15+ kgs in the salmon lake or trophy size trout in the trout lake. The salmon lake is 4 acres in area (see picture below) and the trout lake is approximately 1 acre. Both lakes are situated in a magnificent forest setting and abound with wildlife such as platypus, black swans, various ducks and water fowl. With easy access to the water, visiting anglers have a better than even chance of catching a trophy sized fish. The fishery can supply all equipment if required at no extra cost. A salmon ticket covers both lakes and there are basic rules in place. Rod spaces limited. Geeveston, in the lovely Huon valley, is the gateway to the pristine South West of the beautiful island of Tasmania, south of the Australian mainland. Geeveston Golf Course borders the fishery, so golf and bar facilities are available to fishery patrons.  Hotel villa accommodation can be arranged if required.
