Jenolan Caves,
on the fringe of Kanangra Boyd National Park, form the most famous cave system
in the state. Visitor facilities such as lighting, paths and bridges have been
incorporated in many of its tunnels and chambers, but there are also numerous
adventure caves. However, these, like others in the state can only be entered
with a permit. Serious cavers as well as curious tourists also flock to Wombeyan
Caves near Mittagong. Other adventure-caving destinations include Bungonia near
Goulburn, Wee Jasper near Yass, and Yarrangobilly in the Snowy Mountains.
