A widely practiced sport in Victoria, and most regional centres have a club, a network of rides and regular competitive events. The sport is especially popular in state forests around Marysville, where there are single tracks as well as downhill courses. There are also good riding areas in the north-east of the state around Bright and Mount Beauty. Elsewhere, the Brisbane Ranges close to Melbourne and Geelong, and Mount Cole near Ararat offer challenging sport.
